Remedial and Therapeutic Massage
Joanna has studied many forms of massage. She uses a combination of techniques such as lymphatic drainage, trigger point therapy and myofascial release to ensure a therapeutic massage which will be enjoyable to receive but will give lasting health benefits especially for those with muscle tension and pain.
Massage for Pregnancy and Birth
Joanna is an experienced Massage therapist and Pregnancy Massage is something she thoroughly enjoys. Mothers to be are tired, sore and sometimes anxious. Massage is a wonderful way to relax the body and mind. It relieves the tight muscles and can help women sleep better too.
"I love being able to help a pregnant client, they are doing such a wonderful job, their bodies are working so hard and they feel so much better after a massage, it really makes a big difference" Says Joanna.
Joanna has recently begun working with women in labour also, with an idea to train as a doula she has attended a few births, some just as support but now also as the Mums (and sometimes Dads) personal massage therapist. After experiencing a posterior labour she knew first hand the absolute importance of massage in labour. "My husband was not allowed to leave my lower back, his hands had to stay there! Which meant he wasn't able to do any of the other tasks I would have liked such as hold me up, give me drinks, snacks, cold washers, ice, take photos etc. My back pain was so intense and his hands were the only relief I got". She now wants to be those hands for other women to free up the men to do the other tasks.
